About the event

A one off session to experience and learn more about the Zentangle Method of mindful drawing, a global movement to reduce stress and improve focus one pen stroke at a time, whilst creating a unique art creation that is truly yours.

Unlike general mindful doodling, Zentangle® is a research-supported method that actively engages the brain, fostering a state of relaxed focus. Studies have shown that repetitive, structured patterns can:

Reduce stress & anxiety – Activating the parasympathetic nervous system (your body's natural calming response)

Boost creativity – Encouraging a flow state, similar to meditation

Enhance cognitive focus - and emotional well-being

Zentangle method drawing is recommended by the PTSD UK charity, the only charity involved with people with post traumatic stress disorder*

"Zentangle Meditation for PTSD

For many people, especially those affected by PTSD or C-PTSD, traditional meditation can pose challenges due to the difficulty of quieting a busy mind or confronting intrusive thoughts. That’s where Zentangle meditation steps in as a perfect solution. Zentangle is a form of art meditation which is used to relax the mind by falling into a state of ‘flow’ by drawing  repetitive patterns, and having no end goal in mind while you draw."

There is a stair lift if you need one, but no lift. Be aware the stairlift takes about six minutes so give yourself the time you need to get to the room.
