About the event
Dive into mandala making using mindful drawing!
Perfect for you if you would like to start creating your own unique mandalas. You can do them with black ink, or introduce colour. You'll be using a 'tool' to help you create them - which you can take home and use yourself.
We begin the session with quiet time to settle into the workshop. We will look at some suggested tangles to use in your Zendala®. Using the 'Markus Operandus', you will be guided through laying out framework. You can follow along or create your own. This could involve radial symmetry, alternating spaces or gentle mirroring of patterns - all with a 'no maths' tool.. There is no single outcome and no expectation that your tile will look like anyone else’s.
The Zendala® format naturally invites rhythm and reflection. As you draw around the circle, you may notice a calming sense of movement and continuity. You will be encouraged to draw slowly, one stroke at a time, noticing how each shape builds on the next. The repetition can feel soothing while also holding your focus.
Each tangle you use to create your mandala is easy to follow, and you will be guided every step of the way. You don't have to think about 'what' you will be doing, and the structured nature means you can relax and just be in the moment with your work. Be prepared to focus on your own work and let your creativity flow!
This session is aimed at adults.
