About the event

Dive into mindful drawing!


A great way to explore your creativity, ideal for everyone, this structured course is perfect for complete beginners with no drawing background.  Zentangle is more than just drawing – it's a journey into mindfulness and relaxation, and you will take away your own beautiful art piece.


Its sturctured in that a Certified Zentangle Teacher will lead whole session, so that you can focus on your own piece of creativity, and not worry about 'what to do'. The patterns themselves are structured, you will find out the way you can easily make them!


The Zentangle Method uses pens and pencils to draw small designs made of repeating patterns, but you will be led stroke by stroke. Everyone makes something differrent, though we all do the 'same' thing.


You can create designs for card making, inform stitching and sewing designs and you can see how you can display them using the concertina book format and framing ideas.


Did you know that the PSTD UK charity recommends this drawing Method for anxiety? Or that this drawing method is "an effective alternative treatment approach for older adults with mild to moderate depression." found as a result of research? Calm Down and Get Your Zentangle On, a blog in Psychology Today has an easy to read article (one page), gives you some background.


The is designed to give you the confidence to practice this at home, so you can start a life enriching new way to de-stress every day, with no complicated equipment.


The cost is £10. Just bring yourself and materials will be provided.


There will be refreshment break (though some people just want to carry on drawing - its more -ish!)
